Dark ruby garnet, opaque core, violet reflections, delicate rim brightening; ripe heart cherries, fine noble wood nuances, delicate nougat, excellent extract sweetness, chocolaty touch, noble fine integrated tannins, remains well and long adherent, highly mineral on the back palate; great aging potential.

Best serving temperature: 17°C - Slightly chilled (14°C), the Blaufränkisch Ried Oberer Wald is also highly enjoyable to drink during the hot season
Recommended glass: Bordeaux glass
Recommended dishes: Game, chamois, wildfowl, fillet of beef, rack of lamb, braised meat, roast veal

Specifics of the vineyard | The "Oberer Wald" site is the second largest single vineyard in Rust. It is located north of Rust in the direction of Oggau. It is the only Rust site that slopes towards the south. Here the Blaufränkisch plays by far the main role. The "Oberer Wald" can be described as the most calcareous Rust site. One finds mainly calcareous sandstone with shells and corals with thin, mostly sloping marl layers. Well drained and rich in skeletons. This vineyard produces Blaufränkisch wines of cool fruit precision. |

Processing | Destemmed, closed fermentation for 14 days, malolactic fermentation on the mash, soft pressing, ageing time in french oak barriques. |
