Furmint

"Die Ruster Urrebe" extra-light + NEW!
Year: 2025
- vegan - handpicked

Extra-light and ideal for summer!

Delicate fruit notes of Williams pears, pure and vibrant; very well-balanced and tightly integrated, pleasantly rounded, with a subtle hint of honey, juicy and perfectly complemented by its fresh acidity.

In the 13th century, King Béla IV of Hungary allowed Italian immigrants into his kingdom. They brought Furmint with them from their homeland. As Rust was once part of western Hungary, this grape variety is still cultivated on Rust’s soil today. In 1681, the citizens of Rust purchased their town charter with 500 buckets (30,000 litres) of Rust Ausbruch made from Furmint grapes and 60,000 gold guilders. Before the phylloxera infestation, Furmint was even the most widely planted white wine variety in the region. Today, this grape variety is almost exclusively grown in the free town of Rust. It is historically closely linked to the town and is an absolute rarity. I am used to
